Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Cream: a miracle in our beauty cases!

<!–[if !mso]>st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } <![endif]–>

Imagine a little flower that seems so pretty and fragile but in reality is strong enough to survive for a long long period without water. This flower truly exists and it is called Rosa Arctica (Haberlea rhodopensis). It can survive up to 31 months in a dry- out cycle, by falling into anabiosis. When proper moisture conditions are restored, it returns to life within hours.
Now think of a cream that would offer all these properties in your skin. A dream? Not really! Kiehl’s thought about it and created the new Rosa Arctica cream, a youth regenerating cream that helps to minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles and loss of firmness, while dramatically re-hydrating skin. In fact, in a four-week consumer study conducted with 50 women ages 40 to 50, 91% of users said their skin appeared “more revitalized and rejuvenated” and 93% said their skin felt “denser and thicker”—which is a good thing, when we’re talking about skin.
Thanks to the Rosa Arctica flower, the anti-age treatment helps to jolt skin cells. This cream does not only deliver energy to the skin, allowing cellular activity to reawaken, but also protects the skin from future damage. As a result, the skin becomes visibly firmer, denser, and smoother. Plus, the Rosa Arctica offers a dramatic restoration of hydration.

There are more interesting ingredients in this new cream, like Vitamin E (antioxidant and moisturizing proprieties) , squalane (a healing botanical lipid with a high affinity for skin to instantly restore and replenish), lipids (like cocoa and shea butters and essential fatty acids such as oleic, stearic and palmatic acid that help replenish skin’s barrier) and glycerin.

Kiehl’s Tip: use twice daily for a smoother, firmer and denser appearance.
Now, after the presentation day of October 11th, they offered as a Kiehl’s goodie bag. The Rosa Arctica cream was one of the two products we got! Isn’t that wonderful??? So, I am gonna try it and I will let you know my opinion. I might ask my mother to try it as I do not have fine lines or wrinkles. She is obviously the one that could tell me her sincere opinion about the product and I will notice how effective the cream is.
The Rosa Arctica cream is already available at the stores. It costs €59 and it comes in a jar of 50g.
In Greece you can find Kiehl’s products at Hondos Center Kolonaki, Hondos Center Glyfada and Attica, the Department Store, on Panepistimiou St.

Review Layla Cosmetics Milano: Hydro Tense Soft & Fluid Foundation

Today I am going to review a product that I have tried a long time ago. It’s the Hydro Tense Soft & Fluid Foundation by Layla Cosmetics, an italian brand that I love.

The foundation comes in a bottle made of glass. The packaging reminds me Dior’sNude foundation. I like that. It is simple but still elegant and has a professional style. It contains 30mL of product and expires 12 months after you open it for the very first time. As for the price, it costs €16.

But let’s talk about the most interesting part: the product itself. I’ve received the shade No3 which wasn’t the right shade for me at all (I think I need No2 or maybe a combination of 2 and 3). This one was a little bit dark for me. Ihave tried it a few times, without getting out of the house, just because I wanted to try it (it would be nice for summer days that I was tanned…ahahaaha).

The finish is good, not heavy at all and gives a really natural look. I felt like I had no make up. The coverage is light, suitable for those who don’t have imperfections. So, not for me at all! As for the texture, it is liquid but really light and soft. I was more liquid that I expected. You’d better apply it with a sponge rather that a brush. I wish it was more creamy.
It has a nice and discrete scent, too.

It really hydrates the skin. If you have oily skin, you’d better not use this foundation because it is oily and it might give you an oily effect.

I don’t really go mad for this foundation. I wanted it a higher coverage and a product more suitable to my oily skin.
Have you ever tried thie Hydro Tense & Fluid Foundation? How did you find it? Which foundation dissapointed you?

Review: Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Toner

When it comes to toners, I don’t really get excited. I have tried a few but I have never noticed any difference. So, I’ve just considered their use as another useless step on my daily skincare routine.
That’ s why I didn’t expect much by Instant Boost Skin Toner. I love Liz Earle’s products but I was sure that this product would disappoint me. What did motivate me to try it? The ingredient list; it is paraben-free, it doesn’t contain alcohol and the main ingredient is Aloe Vera, which has antioxidant properties, moisturizes the skin and gives it a nice fresh feeling.
Instant Boost Skin Toner is liquid, slighter heavier than water, probably because of Aloe Vera.
How to use? Pour a generous amount of product onto a cotton pad and then sweep it over your face and neck in gentle circular movements. Apply daily morning and night.
Once applied it gives a barely tacky feeling on my skin. At first I didn’t like that, but I realized that this feeling disappears instantly and the toner is quickly absorbed. That’s nice because I don’t have to wait to apply my moisturizer.
The first thing I noticed was the floral scent. The smell is quite strong, but pleasant. I don’t really like floral scents, but this one doesn’t bother me at all. It feels so refreshing!
This toner is suitable for all skin types. But does it really work? Oh yeah! Even if I use the toner once a day (and not twice as it is recommended) I can notice the difference. My skin seems healthier, brighter and feels more clean and refreshed. The Instant Boost Skin Toner also soothes my skin and leaves it hydrated.
Thanks to the antioxidants, this toner keeps skin in great condition and the beneficial effects are more visible in the long run period instead after a month.
The container is a tube that twists up to reveal a hole. I don’t really find it comfortable because sometimes, when I twist it up, some of the toner pours out, getting wasted. However, if you’re interested in trying this toner, don’t let that put you off. It also comes in a spritzer container.

For best results use the 3 step system, which I also use daily:
  1. Cleanse & Polish
  2. Instant Boost Skin Toner
  3. Repair Moisturiser

But what about the cost of this product? It depends of what you want. You can get:
30mL spritzer or 50mL bottle for £4.85
200mL spritzer for £ 12.00
200mL bottle for £11.75

Have you ever tried this toner? What do you think about it? Let me know, girls!
